Hardware Engineering Manager
Kent - Hybrid 2 - 4 days a week on site
£65,000 - £70,000 depending on skills and experience
*** Due to the nature of the role & the industry you will be working in, you will be required to achieve UK SC Clearance ***
We are looking for an experienced Hardware Engineering Manager to join us on a permanent basis. You'll work as part of a larger team but also be responsible for several Junior, Senior & Principal Engineers. You will play a key part in managing Electronics Hardware teams enabling the development and supply of products across a diverse mix of commercial and military platforms; Head Up and Head Worn Displays, Safety Critical Pilot Control and Flight Control Systems.
Day to Day you will be:
1. Developing purpose-fit processes for engineering excellence. Your insights will lead to streamlined operations, enhanced craftsmanship, and vendor improvements.
2. Providing valuable input into our electronics hardware engineering strategies, helping us optimise cost, schedule, and quality, ensuring best practices are integrated seamlessly.
3. Inspiring both teams and the larger enterprise to embrace innovative paradigms, bridging disciplines and influencing a culture of excellence.
4. Nurturing and developing your team; driving a workforce, enhancing skills and taking on new tasks; conducting Performance Development Reviews.
5. Ensuring correct implementation and use of resources, including the recruitment of experienced engineers, undergraduate placement students, and graduates.
6. Playing a key role in our estimating and development strategies to support our Technical Bid Review Process.
Key Experiences we are looking for:
1. Managing large teams or teams of teams through electronics hardware lifecycles.
2. Demonstrable leadership skills to drive growth.
3. Ability to engage and negotiate with stakeholders, delivering information at all levels and influencing decision making.
4. Technical engineering background with a relevant qualification or experience.
5. Experience with Avionic Systems, Mission Systems, Safety Critical Control Systems, or Real-time Embedded/Display Systems.
