Job Introduction
We are excited to announce a vacancy for the position of Safeguarding Specialist Nurse in South Essex.
The post holder will act as an expert resource within HCRG Care Group, working in collaboration with managers and clinicians of all disciplines, providing expert advice to ensure effective delivery of clinical services in accordance with the contractual commitments and associated regulations.
The post holder will work with the Safeguarding Named Nurse to deliver an effective support function in their specialist area and support teams to deliver high quality and effective care. The post holder may be responsible for managing a delegated team.
Base
The base for this role is Highcliffe Family Hub, Wickford, SS11 8JE. We currently work both from home and from the base. There is an expectation that some travel within the quadrant and across Essex will be required.
Main Responsibility
1. Being part of a team providing the highest quality safeguarding service to our colleagues in Essex Child and Family Wellbeing Services.
2. To work autonomously to make decisions of the highest complexity with the subject they are leading and to identify and manage associated risks accordingly.
3. To support the delivery and development of improved performance across all clinical and non-clinical services within the organisation; specifically within the subject they are leading.
4. Promote quality improvement across all services areas.
5. To take responsibility for the monitoring of; and where necessary, working with service leads to improve upon contractual KPIs relating to their subject matter.
6. Leads on specific programmes of work as directed by the Safeguarding Named Nurse.
The Ideal Candidate
1. You will be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, have a degree in a relevant subject area or equivalent experience.
2. You will have a keen interest and experience in Safeguarding Children.
3. You will have experience in mentorship.
4. You may have a teaching and assessing qualification.
5. You may have the Safeguarding Supervision Skills Training.
6. You will also need to be confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e. Outlook, Word, Excel.
