On behalf of NatWest, we are looking for a Senior Risk Analyst for a 9-month contract based in London (2 days in the office). NatWest is a major UK retail bank, providing every day banking services to over 17 million retail customers. The banks expertise and services span across Business Services, Corporate banking, Wealth Management, Group Functions, Retail and Investment Banking. Join us as a Senior Risk Analyst As a Senior Risk Analyst you will be supporting onshore Credit Officers on credit risk assessment of Corporate and Institutional Banking counterparties. The role entails undertaking thorough, accurate and high quality counterparty credit analysis. What you'll do: Financial statement analysis and commentary on financial performance of the counterparty. Prepare financial spreads, including forecasting and/or stress test, to generate financial ratios and internal credit rating. Independent assessment of risks associated with the counter-party and identifying mitigants for the same. Conduct written credit analysis and provide appropriate credit rating to Credit Officer for approval. Closely monitor developments related to regulatory, industry, counterparty, external ratings and carryout appropriate credit action. Analyse counterparty credit limits/facilities and documentation terms. Manage a portfolio of simple and standard credits including annual reviews, monitoring and tracking the portfolio. Assist senior team members in preparing sector/industry review and ad-hoc assignments. Manage caseload effectively and ensure that work is completed within agreed time-line. Participate in ad-hoc projects as and when required. Build working knowledge of credit related systems (e.g. PRiSM, CORT, Phoenix, Capital IQ etc) and credit policies. Strive to achieve continuous improvement in the quality of deliverables. EWI Monitoring. The skills you'll need: Background in banking or financial services. Experience in risk management, focusing on private equity Three to five years in credit risk roles within Knowledge Process Outsourcing (KPO) firms, banks, or similar institutions. Strong understanding of finance and accounting principles. Proven expertise in analysing financial statements to identify key characteristics and industry drivers. Comprehensive knowledge of financial and non-financial risks, including legal, reputational, regulatory, and operational aspects. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Familiar with research databases such as Bloomberg, CapitalIQ, Factiva, and Thomson Reuters. Skilled in credit rating methodologies, including CAMELS, cash flow analysis, and balance sheet and income statement analysis. In-depth understanding of at least one sector or industry and its primary drivers. Excellent communication skills. Thrives in team-oriented environments. Self-motivated with strong interpersonal abilities. Proven track record of establishing successful working relationships.
