Leicester City Football Club are excited to be seeking an experienced and committed teacher to join the Club’s Academy Education department, with the focus of the role to ensure that our Under-18 Apprentices maximize their academic potential through the innovative and engaging delivery of a leading-edge BTEC programme.
Who We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate must be a fully qualified teacher (QTLS or QTS), will have a minimum of 3 years’ experience teaching Key Stage 5 P.E. and Sport qualifications, and demonstrable experience of designing, implementing and delivering academic / vocational programmes within Key Stage 5. Experience teaching English and/or Maths within the Key Stage, alongside an understanding of working with young elite athletes would also be hugely beneficial to the role.
Main objectives for this role include:
-Supporting the education department in working towards the creation of a leading-edge academic provision in the LCFC Academy.
-Planning, delivering and assessing the BTEC Level 3 in Sport Performance & Excellence to scholarship players in the LCFC Academy.
-Supporting the education department in its commitment to enabling all players within the LCFC Academy to achieve their educational flight path.
-Providing academic progress reports via attendance of all performance reviews of Under-18 players.
-Supporting the Under-12 to Under-16 education sessions as part of the Club’s ‘Day Release Programme’.
-Participating in the preparation of Premier League and Football League educational initiatives.
-Providing in person support and consistent academic visits to our partner school to ensure efficient and effective delivery of the Club’s full-time training programme through a positive working partnership.

Formed in 1884, the Club was promoted to the Premier League in 2014 when the Foxes returned to the top tier as the Championship title-winners. In 2016, Leicester City became Premier League champions. The Club continued to build on that success and celebrated lifting the prestigious FA Cup in May 2021.
