JOB TITLE: QHSE/GSE Manager
LOCATION: Bristol Airport
REPORTING TO: General Manager
OVERVIEW OF JOB DESCRIPTION
To take the proactive QHSE business lead to promote a culture of Quality, Health, Safety and Environment (QHSE) and Security in supporting the QHSE strategy for the business, by engaging with teams (at all levels) and educating them on the importance of QHSE and Security throughout the Aviation operations.
To work with BIAL MT to ensure that fleet is maintained in a timely fashion. Work with the MT management team to deliver maximum vehicles for peak operation. Manage the oversight of the maintenance and repairs to ensure KPI are met by the supplier. Oversee delivery of new vehicles, equipment and ensure all users are appraised of correct use.
* Facilitate and drive internal compliance and awareness of QHSE throughout the operation, by ensuring that corporate and sector policy/procedures are adhered to and complied with.
* Assist in Maintaining Aviation Sector QHSE procedures.
* Collate information to formalise monthly reports for the leadership team to drive continuous improvement across the Aviation business.
* Act as the Responsible Person for all health and safety matters, identifying and responding to current legal and best practice requirements.
* Work proactively with managers and other key stakeholders to establish and maintain vehicles and equipment.
* Hold regular meetings with both internal and external stakeholders in relation to QHSE and GSE.
* Development, maintaining and influencing of a strong reporting ‘Just’ culture.
* Support management in and/or lead investigations of occurrences, hazards etc. and ensure corrective and preventative actions are implemented and evidenced.
* Support in the Management of insurance claims, inclusive of ascertaining the occurrence through investigation reports.
* Liaise with regulatory bodies ensuring compliance with mandatory regulations.
* Keep up to date with new legislation and industry best practice.
* Ensure and report on regular site inspection, Ramp audits and Vehicle maintenance audits are undertaken to ensure compliance with policy/procedure.
* Carry out/assist in assurance audits and oversee or support corrective actions with the responsible management team.
* Support QHSE requirements that are identified and implemented for new contracts/Mobilisations.
* Plan practical and effective methods (both preventative and remedial) when promoting QHSE, GSE and safe working practices including risk assessment.
* Support the operation in the Delivery of Management QHSE training and monitoring of competencies.
Essential
* IOSH qualified.
* Background in aviation industry or similar highly regulated industry/environment.
* Good knowledge of health, safety, environment and quality standards, management and implementation.
* Strong organisation, prioritisation and planning skills.
* Strong communication skills.
* Sound IT and PC skills including Microsoft Office packages and Teams.
* Knowledge of quality assurance and standards ISO9001, ISO45001, ISO14001.
* Good leadership skills and the ability to motivate and influence others at all levels.
* Good communicator who can articulate information to various levels in a practical and understanding way.
* The ability to build and maintain professional and proactive relationships with the organisation, our client base and the Aviation Management peer group.
* Proven record in QHSE/Safety management and the associated commercial benefits.
* Full, clean UK driving licence; UK travel may be required.
* Passionate about the role QHSE plays in being a successful partner of choice, and the desire to make a positive difference.
Desirable
* NEBOSH Diploma / NVQ L5 or Equivalent.
* Level 3 trainer (Health & Safety Training) (IOSH).
* Internal Auditor.
