Anderson Knight is currently seeking a Buyer for one of our clients based in Lanark. This role involves sourcing products, negotiating with suppliers, and ensuring that our purchasing strategies support the company’s operational and strategic goals. The ideal candidate will be skilled in procurement, possess excellent negotiation abilities, and be able to work collaboratively across departments. Key Responsibilities: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, negotiate terms, and manage supplier relationships to secure the best value for the company. Conduct market research and analysis to stay informed about industry trends, pricing, and supply chain developments. Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies and procedures. Monitor inventory levels and place orders to maintain optimal stock levels, preventing shortages or overstock situations. Review and analyse supplier performance, addressing any issues and working towards continuous improvement. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and develop effective purchasing strategies. Ensure timely delivery of goods and services, managing any delays or disruptions proactively. Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier information, and contract details. Prepare reports on procurement activities, including cost analysis and budget forecasts. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Buyer or in a similar procurement role, with a track record of successful supplier negotiation and management. Strong understanding of procurement processes, supply chain management, and market analysis. Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
