This position is accountable as the Supervisor for the following end results:
1. Supervision of the Field Instrument team including workload allocation, planning, personal development, HR management, approvals, and determining competency gaps and training requirements.
2. Determine and plan resources for both planned and unplanned work to meet demand.
3. Manage safety performance including BSP team leadership, incident reporting, and investigation support where necessary.
4. Maintain, update, and operate using global, national, and local procedures ensuring operational excellence at all times.
5. Purchase (EAR/asset management) of Field Instrument team test equipment ensuring maintenance and calibration in a timely manner to meet national standards.
6. Support Procurement by identifying new contractors and completing evaluations, providing feedback on their performance.
7. Provide technical support for the commissioning of new plant and equipment.
8. Prepare and review written reports after completing assignments, ensuring actions are communicated to all relevant parties.
9. Conduct and lead classroom training for all Instrument Employees in the UK and Ireland.
This position is accountable as a Principal Field Engineer for the following end results:
1. Respond to major occurrences of plant breakdowns requiring control and instrumentation expertise.
2. Support plants with maintenance both practically and technically.
3. Carry out plant modifications according to design specifications.
4. Review and update the technical content of preventive maintenance procedures.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education Requirements:
* G.C.S.E Math, English, and Science min grade C
* Completion of a Formal Instrumentation Apprenticeship
* HNC or equivalent
* Computer skills (Microsoft Office, SAP, STAC)
* Compex (Ex 01 to Ex 04)
Professional Licence Requirements:
* Valid full driver’s licence
* Valid passport
Skills and Experience:
* Experience in the management and supervision of personnel (minimum 5 years).
* Proven coaching skills.
* Ability to multi-task and prioritize work.
* Supervision of preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, modifications, installation, and commissioning of control and instrumentation systems.
* Familiarity with control and instrumentation equipment and systems.
* Ability to read instrumentation and trip panel drawings, logic diagrams, and configuration documentation.
* Minimum of 10 years practical experience preferably in an air separation or petrochemical industry.
