We need a CNC Milling Setter Operator for an Aerospace company in Hemal Hempstead.
Working hours
* Working 39.5 hours a week from 8.00 am to 4.30 pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00 am to 4.00 pm on Fridays (30 mins for lunch).
* The salary is £16 - £18 p/h. Overtime payable at x1.5 hourly rate (days).
Manufacturing precision gear splined and threaded components for our clients including Rolls Royce, Eaton, Collins Aerospace, Safran Power Systems, Meggitt and many more. Producing high precision parts and components for the Aerospace industry. The nature of the work is small to medium batch with medium to high complexity. The primary focus of this position is to support the production demands within the Milling department. The role will also support working on NPI parts to produce new methods of manufacture for our customer's cutting edge designs.
Responsibilities
1. Working with Planning, Quality and other teams on NPI to develop manufacturing methods for our customer's designs. This includes prototype and repeat work.
2. Setting & Operating CNC Milling machines to produce components to customer specification. Typical tolerances of +/- .001” (0.025mm) and occasional tolerances of +/- .0005” (0.0125 mm).
3. Ensure accurate job timings are recorded within the Company's ERP system, Javelin, and scanning on and off jobs.
4. Maintain 6s standards within the shop floor.
5. Look for continuous improvement opportunities - improving processes with small tweaks or complete re-engineering.
Experience and Skill Required
1. Previous Aerospace experience or similar is required.
2. Competent in setting and operating on HAAS milling machines using Fanuc controls.
3. Previous experience of working with a range of materials i.e., Stainless Steel, Nylon, Titanium, Inconel & Aluminium to typical tolerance of +/- .001” (0.025mm) and occasional tolerances of +/- .0005” (0.0125 mm) in line with customer specifications.
4. Either apprentice trained or qualified by experience.
5. Experience in Programming would also be a distinct advantage.
6. Experience in operating 2 machines collaboratively.
7. Good attention to detail with the capability to use a range of measuring equipment for in-process inspection (self-inspect machined parts).
8. Ability to read and interpret customer drawings.
