We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a specialist provision in Cwmbran. This is an excellent opportunity to work with children aged 3-16, providing essential support to students with a range of complex needs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored one-to-one and group support to students with complex needs, both in the classroom and during unstructured times.
- Work closely with class teachers to deliver engaging, adapted educational programmes.
- Create a nurturing, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
- Foster social interaction and encourage students to engage in activities that support their development.
- Observe and monitor student progress, contributing to individual learning plans and offering feedback as required.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children, ideally within a special educational needs (SEN) environment.
- A compassionate, patient, and adaptable approach to supporting diverse student needs.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other support staff.
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
