Permanent, Full time (37.5 hours per week)

We have two great opportunities for a Housing Manager to join Home Groups awesome housing team in Yorkshire, which forms part of our wider regionalised East Coast and Yorkshire region.
You’ll be savvy in commercial aspects and local reporting, knowing and keeping abreast of benefit changes and understanding how this will impact our region and our customers. Working closely with our financial inclusion colleagues and internal campaigns, you’ll provide support for our complex / vulnerable customers. You may already have extensive experience of income collection within another sector. Come and showcase your skills! You’ll join our team with a real focus on income management and sustaining tenancies.
Typical day as a Housing Manager: Arrears & Income
* You will work alongside our income housing managers to support customers and identify regional trends.
* You will provide support where it’s needed most, advising and supporting on benefit applications and maximising income for customers – for example discretionary housing payments, new claims and PIP.
* You’ll build up a knowledge base and know who offers support in your region, and you’ll know how to make successful and meaningful referrals to external agencies where needed.
* You will work collaboratively with financial inclusion colleagues.
* You will work with housing managers on specific campaigns to reduce arrears, such as targeted work with customers in a locality, or where there is an increase in returned direct debits.
* You’ll be proactively working to commercially reduce debt within the region, with a positive impact for customers.

You have
* You will have a background in income protection & arrears management processes, either within the housing sector or alternative commercially driven sector.
* You’ll understand housing management, housing law, universal credit and housing benefit.
* A must for this position is that you’ll have experience of income and benefits knowledge to support our customers and our wider housing income management team.
* You’re super organised and methodical in your approach and are a proactive self-starter with a “can do” positive attitude.
* Passionate about delivering excellent customer service and have a genuine desire to help your customers.
* This job can challenge, especially when we’re dealing with complaints, but your resilience will help you through.

Although we work as a mobile team, we are close knit and supportive of one another. We don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!
Job details
* Hybrid working which involves working from home, in the community or your nearest local office.
* Typically work 9am-5pm from Monday to Friday.
* You'll manage your own diary and be accountable for achieving KPIs.
* You’ll need to be competent in IT and able to learn new systems quickly.
* You will need to be able to drive and have access to a vehicle insured for business purposes. Don’t worry, we’ll pay your business mileage to cover this use!
* You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
