As the Lead Provider for North and East Isle of Wight, we are proud to work in partnership with the Isle of Wight Council to provide domiciliary care for local residents, including those discharged from hospital.
We are seeking a Brokerage Officer Apprentice to join our established team, whilst undertaking a Business Administration course to complement learning within this position. In this dynamic role, you will facilitate the transfer of care from acute settings to the community and broker care packages across the Isle of Wight and Swindon. Working closely with our commissioning and contract team at our head office in Swindon, you’ll ensure that care packages meet the needs of service users while maintaining strong relationships with our partner organizations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Broker Care Packages: Source and manage packages of care with partner organizations in the Isle of Wight and Swindon.
2. Capacity Management: Maintain market supply, coordinating changes and identifying emerging capacity needs.
3. Service User Advocacy: Act as an advocate for patients, ensuring safe and timely transfers of care.
4. Contract Management: Support contract reviews, manage invoice queries, and contribute to the quality assurance process.
5. Safeguarding & Risk: Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed and contribute to service user risk assessments. Maintain integrity when dealing with confidential matters & adhere to company policies.
6. Communication: Collaborate with care teams, ensuring accurate and sensitive information sharing in line with data protection regulations.
Skills:
1. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
2. Be willing to support with advocating for patients and make informed decisions based on best practices.
3. Be willing to learn safeguarding processes and risk assessments.
Requirements:
1. Be 18 years of age or older.
2. Must have at least a grade C or 4 GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English or willing to undertake Functional Skills as part of the course.
3. Have an understanding and/or interest in the health and social care sector.
4. Complete course work on time and to a high standard and produce, maintain and be responsible for content, accuracy and sign off of assessments completed.
Desirable:
1. Health and social care qualification GCSE or equivalent.
Duration:
The Apprenticeship will take between 12 - 18 months to complete. Courses available Business Administration Level 2 and 3 depending on previous qualifications.
Salary:
£13,312 per annum, for the 1st year – Rate will be assessed after a year.
Location:
Swindon and remote working.
Hours:
08.30am - 17.00pm, Monday – Friday. Some flexibility in hours may be required to suit the needs of the business.
