One of our partner schools are looking for several LSA’s (Learning Support Assistant) to help support at their SEN school based near Cambridge. This school are needing extra staff to help support the children either in a 1:1 setting or small groups.
The school specialises in pupils who have a variety of complex and significant learning requirements in the areas of cognition and learning. This includes students with profound physical and sensory needs as well as those with autism spectrum conditions.
You must be available to work Monday through to Friday to be considered for this role. This is a full time role on a temporary to permanent placement.
About the role:
Sociable hours, NO WEEKENDS – 8.30am-3.30pm (these hours may vary by 45 minutes)
Provide one-on-one and group support to students with SEN.
Assist with classroom activities and help implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Collaborate with teachers and therapists to support student development.
Be a source of motivation, encouragement, and positivity for your students.
The ideal candidate will:
Have previous personal or professional experience working with SEN children (not essential)
Hold a valid DBS on the update service (or be willing to apply for one)
Have the passion and drive to work with children - MUST
Able to use own initiative to get involved – MUST
