The Hampshire Biodiversity Information Centre (HBIC) is part of an integrated, multi-disciplinary team offering a range of specialist environmental services to the County Council and other public authorities. HBIC brings together information on Hampshire’s natural environment and works with a wide range of partner organisations involved in the supply and use of biodiversity data.We are looking for a highly motivated and organised individual who has a keen eye for detail to to support the management of the HBIC Habitat Survey Programme and the evaluation of Sites of Importance for Nature Conservation, in addition to the verification and provision of biodiversity data.Applicants should have an appropriate degree or professional qualification; a good understanding of ecology, habitats, species and nature conservation practice; knowledge and experience of habitat survey and vegetation classification systems; and good IT skills preferably including experience in biodiversity data handling, GIS and Access databases.
