Primary responsibilities include: Working on multiple estimates/construction contracts at the same time. Preparing design/build budget estimates and value engineering estimates. Soliciting subcontractor bids/vendor quotations. Ensuring projects are completed within the time frame and budget. Creating estimating spreadsheets and detailed proposals. Assisting with determining scope through pre-construction meetings. Analysing job cost estimating data from reports. Assembling enquiries for specialist subcontractors/suppliers. Ability to work on own initiative & meet tender deadlines. Developing relationships with customers, our supply chain, and team members. Considering innovation and new products. Requirements for the Mechanical Estimator job : Knowledge of mechanical systems, materials, and installation methods, including ventilation, heating, BMS and public health services Ideally an understanding of construction processes and project management principles. Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail. Ideally proficient in using estimation software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ideally able to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
