Main duties of the job
We'dlike you to join us as a Staff Nurse (RN) at our Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in Nottingham. At Nottingham Brain Injury Rehabilitation and Neurological Care Centre, we offer rehabilitation, care and support to people with a brain injury or other neurological condition. Were committed to helping every person we support feel safe, happy, empowered enabling them to live the best life possible. We provide a psychology led multi-disciplinary treatment model to deliver a high quality, specialist service for people who have a neuro disability or acquired brain injury.

Job responsibilities
What you'll be working:
1. hours per week
2. Days & nights on a rota basis.
We have vacancies on:
Fernwood Unit - Providing longer term care for residents with complex care needs including tracheostomies, ventilation. (22 Beds)
Millwood Unit - a Rehabilitation Unit delivering a programme following brain injury, to enable them to become as independent as possible. (14 beds)
What you'll be doing:
3. To give care and support to individuals, with physical and cognitive impairments as a result of brain injury or other progressive neurological condition.
4. To work according to the NMC Code of Professional Conduct and relevant professional guidelines as a named nurse or key worker (with facilitation) for a defined group of patients/residents and take responsibility for:
5. Protecting and supporting the health of individual patients/residents;
6. Assessment of care and health education needs;
7. Development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care including discharge planning for each patient.
8. Under supervision, to gain experience and skills in:
9. Clinical practice;
10. Facilitation and teaching;
11. Management (as appropriate).
12. To take charge of the ward/department/unit in the absence of senior nursing staff following performance review.
13. To adopt a flexible approach to hours of duty, in order to meet the needs of the service over a 24 hour period.
14. To maintain standards of cleanliness and hygiene, in line with Infection Prevention Control guidance within the clinical environment minimising the risk of cross infection.
