Job summary We have an exciting dietetic assistant practitioner post in our friendly oncology dietetic team, working across Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull Hospital sites. We are made up of a supportive team of oncology dietitians and will help a new post holder to transition into the role. We are contained within a wider department of friendly and supportive dietitians. This is a full time (37.5 hours) permanent post; although part-time hours and flexible working will be considered. We are looking for an enthusiastic candidate who is keen to improve patient outcomes in oncology. The post holder will work with adult patients with any cancer diagnoses, both curative and palliative, including upper GI, ENT, gynae-oncology and hepatobiliary. Main duties of the job This is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic oncology team focusing on achieving excellent nutritional care for people with cancer. The successful applicant will become an integral member of the dietetic team working to ensure optimal nutritional care for patients as a key determinant of recovery and outcome. A successful candidate should be an excellent communicator, with excellent written and verbal communication skills. The post holder should be a team player and be prepared to undertake further learning and development to fulfil the scope and requirements of this role. IT skills are required as all notes are completed with electronic records. Applicants must be able to meet the travel requirements of the post as work across all hospital sites will be required. The post holder will be required to work Monday to Friday and will also contribute to the provision of 7 day therapy services at UHB.
