This is an exciting opportunity for qualified CWPs to develop as a Senior Wellbeing Practitioner and supervisor, who will have been qualified for at least two years by January 2024.
The post holder will be expected to fulfil the requirements of and complete the Senior Wellbeing Practitioner Post Graduate diploma at Kings College London to enable progression to a fully qualified Advanced Practitioner CWP.
The Post holder will work as part of the Croydon CWP service to manage a defined caseload with a focus on providing focused assessment and evidence-based intervention for children and young people (CYP) with mild to moderate mental health difficulties and their parents/carers.
The post holder will be expected to provide Case Management and Clinical Skills Supervision to a number of CWPs within the service.
The post holder will travel to as appropriate and across the Trust when required and adapt working pattern to as appropriate in order to meet the demand from the community.
The post holder is expected to promote equality, diversity and inclusion within their own role, the service, and community settings that allows easy and timely access to those needing support for mild-moderate mental health difficulties.
Main duties of the job
This is a training role within the Children and Young People's Improving Access to Psychological Therapies programme (CYP IAPT). The post-holders will work within CYP CWP aligned with a multidisciplinary team delivering, under supervision, high-quality outcome-informed, focused, evidence-based interventions for children and young people experiencing, mild to moderate anxiety, low mood, and behavioural difficulties.
The training and service experience will equip the post holders with the necessary knowledge, attitude and capabilities to operate effectively in an inclusive, value-driven service.
The post holders will attend all university-based taught and self-study days required by the education provider, as specified within the agreed national curriculum, and work in the service for the remaining days of the week using their newly developed skills.
Job responsibilities
Communication
* Establish therapeutic relationships with children, young people and their families and implement evidence based therapeutic interventions.
* Ensure that all members of the multi-disciplinary team, their colleagues, service users and appropriate others are informed/updated of changes involving current care plans, progress, mental state, and psychosocial factors in line with best practice.
* Liaise with and advise CYP and families, GPs, schools, local authority and other statutory bodies and third sector agencies including childrens safeguarding as required.

Essential
* A good working knowledge of the Mental health disorders in children and adolescents. A good working knowledge of difficulties common to Looked After Children e.g. attachment difficulties
* A good working knowledge of Key legislation relevant to CAMHS setting: The Children Act 1989, 2004 and The Mental Health Act 1983, Human Rights Act 1998 and Mental Capacity Act 2005
* A good working knowledge of the London Child protection procedures. Assessment of risk and management of risk factors
* A good working knowledge of the principles underlying confidentiality and information sharing. The principles of clinical governance and CAMHS practice.

* Relevant research and its application to assessment, treatment and case management of CAMH disorders. Research informed and evidence based methods of assessment, treatment and case management.
Experience
Essential
* Experience and ability to function as a practitioner in CYP mental health services.
* Demonstrable post qualification experience, including experience of working with CYP's with mild to moderate mental health problems and their families using CBT or CBT informed GSH.
* Experience of managing and prioritising a caseload.
* Evidence of good practice in CAMHS assessment facilitation, including assessing: risk behaviour, impact of the lived experience, systemic functioning and managing difference in the clinical space.
