About the Role
An opportunity has arisen for a part time Science Support Coordinator (known internally as a User Office Coordinator) to join our busy User Office team on a fixed term contract until 30th September 2027.
The position provides users and staff with prompt administrative advice, support and feedback regarding the processes related to the access of Users to Diamond. The candidate will be a key point of contact for all matters related to user access, dealing with a wide range of administrative issues in a busy office.
Responsibilities:
* Using the User Administration System (UAS) for managing transactions related to user visits and experiments at Diamond, providing administrative support for external Users, Peer Reviewers, and Diamond staff.
* Organising visits, including booking accommodation, travel, and overseeing reimbursement of expense claims.
* Supporting the delivery of the peer review process.
* Participating in the collation of User Office financial transactions.
* Communicating with colleagues within Diamond and ensuring users are informed about their visits.
This role is part time – 18.5 hours per week, with an expectation of being in the office every day.
About You
You will have a good academic background, educated to A Level standard or equivalent, with good numeracy and literacy skills, strong communication and organisational skills, and experience in administrative applications and systems.
You will demonstrate the following:
* Proficiency in MS Office and experience with databases and applications.
* Ability to handle and prioritise multiple tasks to completion.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Good organisational skills with a pro-active ‘can do’ attitude.
* Excellent customer service and communication/interpersonal skills.
Previous experience in a scientific or academic environment would be beneficial.
