Support Officer

We are looking for another Housing Support Officer to join our team. The team provides personalised support and help to our older or more vulnerable tenants to help them continue to live independently. The job involves visiting tenants across the district each day to provide advice and assistance, helping them to access appropriate services. You will also promote the programme of social activities that are run at the council’s sheltered accommodation sites. We are looking for someone with excellent verbal and written communication skills, good IT skills and who can adapt and deal with emergency situations should they arise. The successful candidate must be able to quickly build and maintain rapport with a varying range of people. A working knowledge of welfare benefits and assistive technology (e.g. lifelines pendants) to help people live independently would be an advantage although full training will be given.
The successful applicant must undertake a basic DBS check.
Job Details
• 18¼ hrs per week with an annual salary of £12,792 - £13,634
• Agile working scheme with a combination of home and office working; this role requires you to visit tenants across the district on a daily basis
• 34 days holiday (including bank holidays) increasing to 38 days after 5 years (full time equivalent)
