Paralegal
Our well-established client, based in Southampton, is searching for two experienced paralegals to join their growing Commercial Property Department to work within their Property Finance team. The right candidates will demonstrate high levels of accuracy, knowledge of firms and departmental needs and procedures, ensuring deadlines are met and be a keen team player.
Responsibilities include:
1. Being proactive in dealing with team tasks
2. Assisting with quote requests
3. Reviewing initial instructions from client banks
4. Carrying out initial communication (verbal and written) with all parties including banks, other side solicitors and brokers
5. Identifying early issues on instructions and advising all parties on options available
6. Drafting and/or reviewing of security paperwork
7. Issuing security paperwork and checking executed versions are correct
8. Carrying out pre-completion searches
9. Dealing with transfer of funds and completion of other fee earner files
10. Assisting with producing weekly or monthly managing information reports to client banks
The successful candidates will possess the following attributes:
1. Prior experience as a paralegal, ideally in property finance/property
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
3. The ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise accordingly
4. The ability to work well under pressure to tight deadlines
5. Excellent attention to detail
6. The ability to work independently and devise solutions to issues encountered
7. Working in a proactive manner when undertaking team tasks
8. Ability to learn quickly and follow team procedures
9. Strong understanding of legal processes
10. Excellent IT skills – good typing skills and navigation of PC software
11. Professionalism when working with colleagues, senior partners, lawyers and clients
12. Ability to generate own work, conduct some business development would be preferred
13. A desire to learn and develop throughout

A competitive initial salary of between £26,000 - £29,000 p/a will be provided and will look to increase, based on length of service.
