DELIVERY MANAGER – ENVIRONMENT NORMANTON What you will be doing: An opportunity has arisen for a Delivery Manager to join the team at Galliford Try within our Environment Business. Ideally, you will based in or around the Normanton area and will have the opportunity to travel across multiple sites/projects in the Region. The Delivery Manager will head up a team as part of the Senior Management Team to deliver a programme of works across the Yorkshire Water region. You will be part of the ongoing regional growth and will therefore be responsible for the development and further recruitment of the project delivery team to serve the region. The role will also include upward and downward reporting within Galliford Try and to the client providing clear and precise direction at all levels. The Delivery Manager is accountable for all commercial aspects of the programme of work. Assisted by the Commercial team you will develop strong contractual and financial controls to deliver rigorous cost control and cash management for each project within your programme of work. Accountable for all activities of project & programme delivery, ensuring that health & safety, programme, design, procurement, financial control and site activities are managed to the highest standards throughout the project lifecycle Influence the operational delivery structure to drive outstanding performance Align to the client’s direction and needs, interpret contract commitments and to manage stakeholder expectations Responsible for ensuring the key deliverables within each stage of the project and programme are being administered to the highest quality Ensure that the proper interpretation of the design briefs are established and the delivered solutions meet and exceed the expectations of internal and external stakeholders Promote strong H&S behaviours Develop of strong team working relationships Provide a vision and define clear team roles, responsibilities and objectives whilst providing a hands-on approach to supporting the Project Team Manage people, resources and relationships to ensure effective delivery of programmes and projects Ensuring all projects adhere to Galliford Try’s high-quality standards and instilling a right first-time approach Build trust with customers and stakeholders, keeping them updated on progress and acting upon feedback Empower others to innovate and drive continuous improvement Supporting the designated individual in ensuring temporary works is followed Make sound, evidence-based decisions, assessing risks and identifying opportunity Encourage commercial challenge at all times Lead our approach to collaborative planning to drive outperformance Ensure compliance to Internal and client system & procedures About You: An industry applicable ONC/HNC/B.Eng. or NVQ equivalent H&S qualifications IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety & Health) or CITB (Construction Industry Training Body) 5 Day Site Safety Management (SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme)), CSCS (Construction Skills Certification Scheme) card Demonstrable experience of working within the waste and / or water industries Working knowledge of Microsoft packages Dedicated team player but also able to work as an individual Ability to prioritise a varied workload and demonstrate time management to comply with deadlines Able to work in a busy environment under pressure Excellent communication skills (email/phone/face to face) Possess a “can do” attitude and provide to support to other members of the team as required You will also be able to demonstrate the following key attributes.
