Position Overview
As a new and key role within the Advancement, Brand, and Communications team, the Marketing and Community Engagement Coordinator will support the delivery of marketing, communications, events, and initiatives to enhance Medbury’s profile, reputation, and relationships within the school community. The role will work closely with various departments to support the school’s strategic objectives and ensure successful community engagement.
Employment Status: Permanent, Full-Time (1.0 FTE)
Reports To: Head of Advancement, Brand, and Communications
Key Responsibilities
1. Marketing & Communications
o Assist in creating and distributing event-related marketing materials, including invitations, social media content, and digital campaigns.
o Maintain the school’s online presence, including social media management, website updates, and email marketing.
o Collaborate with the Communications team to develop content that reflects Medbury’s values, achievements, and engagement efforts.
o Contribute to newsletters, school publications, and promotional material.
o Manage digital marketing campaigns across social media, email, and the website.
2. Old Boys Community Engagement
o Oversee Old Boys events and alumni engagement strategies.
o Strengthen alumni relations and maintain accurate and up-to-date alumni records.
3. Community Engagement & Events
o Develop and implement community engagement initiatives to strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including parents, Old Boys, and external partners.
o Assist with the induction of new families, ensuring they feel welcomed and connected to the Medbury community.
o Actively support the planning and execution of a range of school events, including Open Days, reunions, parent evenings, fundraisers, and community-building initiatives.
o Manage event logistics, including catering, scheduling, and budgeting.
o Support parent groups, the Old Boys’ Association, and other community initiatives.
o Efficiently manage event budgets and track expenditures.
4. Administrative & Reporting
o Maintain accurate records of event attendance, engagement metrics, and stakeholder feedback.
o Prepare reports on community engagement initiatives and event outcomes.
o Ensure events and initiatives comply with Medbury’s policies and values.
Key Selection Criteria
Essential Qualifications & Experience
* A tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field.
* Minimum of three years’ experience in event coordination, community engagement, or marketing within an educational or not-for-profit setting.
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
* Experience with CRM/database management for maintaining alumni and community records.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, social media platforms, and design software (e.g., Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro).
* Experience in alumni relations and stakeholder engagement.
* Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
* Ability to develop and manage digital marketing campaigns.
* A proactive, creative problem-solver who works independently and collaboratively.
