About the role
The successful Senior Technical Coordinator will be coordinating all technical information on projects from inception to completion, acting as the liaison between all relevant parties from consultants, construction site teams, and all other departments.
The Technical Department is involved with the Dandara product from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will form part of the Senior team within the Technical department with the drive and aspiration to progress within the company up to Technical Manager and beyond.
We are seeking to appoint an ambitious high-calibre Technical Coordinator/Senior Technical Coordinator who has previous expertise in the residential/housebuilder field, having led the coordination of technical functions on a number of medium to large sites (100-400+ units).
What you will do:
1. General technical/project coordination & manage flow of information related to the project.
2. Feasibility designs for new developments.
3. Review external technical reports, designs - including house type working drawings, planning layouts, landscaping & engineering layouts and critique them to ensure efficient and coordinated design is achieved.
4. Provide Technical support and advice to other members of the team.
5. Managing the preparation of information required for clearance of all planning conditions/S106 obligations.
6. Brief specialist consultants to produce site-specific advice and information (e.g. ecology, archaeology, arboriculture surveys and reports) required to inform the planning and design process.
7. Ensure thorough coordination and communication between all consultants.
8. Manage and drive consultants in the preparation and issue of production information to an agreed programme, fee, and scope.
9. Clear all building regulations conditions.
10. Coordinate working drawings and collate all supporting information ensuring all are in accordance with the approved planning scheme.
11. Undertake detailed assessment and approval of all supporting suppliers and manufacturers information.
12. Ensure structural assessment of all house type and apartment block drawings are undertaken.
13. Review and comment on the technical content of all sales literature to ensure compliance with working drawings.
14. Input into H&S, CDM and environmental checklists.
15. Attend internal and external meetings when required.
16. Secure building regulations/statutory approvals.
17. Oversee the process of maintaining and updating records of design of the project to include drawings, registers, reports etc. to share with the team.
18. Manage standards and keep up to date on processes including but not limited to National Design Space Standards, Building Regulations, NHBC & Premier Guarantee Technical Standards.
19. Arrange for pre-completion sound testing and air pressure testing to satisfy Building Control requirements.
20. Manage the process of maintaining and updating records of design of the project to include drawings, registers, reports etc. to share with the team.
21. Ensure accuracy and consistency of technical information.
22. Coordinate conveyance plans and legal packs for each project.
23. Highlight exceptions and challenges to the Technical Manager/Director.
24. Provide weekly reports on technical queries and cost-sensitive issues to the Technical Manager/Director.
25. When required, attend sub-contractor pre-start and post-contract meetings to ensure they are correctly briefed.
26. Visit site to ensure the transition from Design to Construction phase.
27. Attend project review meetings on site or virtually.
28. Respond to technical queries from all departments and site.
What you will have:
1. Experience of completing, from start to finish, a number of sites in a technical role for a housebuilder.
2. Degree/HND/HNC in Engineering, Architectural Technology or similar Construction related.
3. Good working knowledge of CAD; Ability to undertake design in-house as required.
4. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
5. Ability to problem solve and resolve issues effectively.
6. All-round appreciation of the legal process in construction.
