Job summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant in Medical Microbiology +/- infectious diseases who is currently included on the Specialty Register with the GMC, or is within 6 months of being awarded GMC specialist registration by CCT to work at the Royal Surrey Hospital.
Applications are invited for this permanent, full-time Consultant Microbiologist (+/- infection control) (10 PAs, of which 8.5 are DCC and 1.5 are SPA). This is a replacement post essential for the continued resilience of the senior clinical team and for the development of clinical microbiology and infection services across our Trust and pathology network. Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will join the team of two full-time consultant microbiologists already in post, 3.5 WTE IPC nurses, 1.0 WTE antimicrobial pharmacist, 1.0 information and surveillance manager and 0.5 IPC administrator. There are opportunities for flexible working, including from home and at other hospital sites in the network.
BSPS serves six hospitals across five NHS Trusts: Ashford and St Peter's Hospital, Frimley Park Hospital, Wexham Park Hospital, Royal Surrey County Hospital, Royal Berkshire Hospital and East Surrey Hospital.
