Axcis are pleased to be working with a mainstream primary school in North Somerset who are looking to recruit an experienced teaching assistant to provide general classroom support, work 1:1 with assigned pupils and lead small group interventions.
About the Role:
The position is a mix of general in-class support, one to one, and small group work. As a teaching assistant in a mainstream primary setting, each day will vary and no day will be the same, but generally you can expect to support with the following:
1. Setting up learning resources, displays, and activities.
2. Provide targeted support to groups of children.
3. Help with classroom management, behaviour support, and engagement.
4. Monitor and record pupil progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
5. Work closely with individuals with various special educational needs and disabilities.
6. Monitor children during playtime to ensure safety and positive interactions.
7. Oversee children in the dining hall, supporting with eating if necessary.
8. Attend staff or SENCO meetings if scheduled.
9. Communicate with parents/carers.
Key Details:
Salary: £83.40 - £90 per day
Hours: 8.15am – 3.30pm
Contract Type: Full-time with potential for permanent placement for the right candidate
