Contract Personnel are recruiting on behalf of our client based in Oxford who are looking for a Forklift Field Service Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.

We are recruiting for a Mechanical Handling Field Service Engineer to join our East Field Service Engineers. The position is full-time, and you would work within the Service Department to maintain, repair, service, and modify a range of material handling equipment.
Key responsibilities will include:
1. Services, maintaining and overhaul, fault find and resolve on a range of material handling products.
2. Servicing gas, diesel, and electric powered forklift trucks.
3. Using check sheets, checking brakes, lifting assembly & steering in working order.
4. Changing oil and filters as necessary.
5. Thorough examinations pending qualifications.
6. Preventative maintenance, such as lubricating steering and lifting equipment.
7. Battery maintenance: check voltages and fluid levels of forklift trucks, using meters and hydrometers.
Your experience/qualities will include:
1. Experience with material handling products or an engineering position, with openness to candidates from automotive, roadside recovery, agricultural, REME, construction equipment, PSV, HGV, LGV, or plant backgrounds.
2. Ability to respond to breakdowns and maintain customer service.
3. Initiative and capability to support and direct others.
4. Achievement of agreed targets, i.e., response time.
5. Completion of documentation to company standards.
6. Liaising with our parts team to ensure appropriate stock levels are held on the company vehicle.
7. Experience in working on mobile machinery (brakes, steering, wheels, lift chains, etc.).
8. Experience in electrical drive and control systems, diesel and LPG engines, and common drive-trains.
9. Knowledge in hydraulics.
Essential to have:
1. Full UK driving license.
2. City and Guilds in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering related field.
3. Diagnostic computer skills.
4. Qualification in related field or similar years of experience.
5. Able to work unsupervised as required.
6. Experience in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering in heavy goods / plant machinery / automotive.
