Summary Works in cooperation with nursing staff and under the direction of the emergency physicians providing timely, efficient and effective acute care of patients utilizing a team model. Performs care including assessments, treatments and medication administration to emergency department patients utilizing skills based on the National Scope of Practice for Paramedics. Minimum Education HS Diploma or equivalent. Completion of accredited paramedic education program. Minimum Work Experience 3 years as a pre-hospital care provider required, experience as a Critical Care Paramedic preferred. Experience with immobilization and stabilization procedures a plus. Required Licenses/Certifications Basic airway skills. Immobilization skills. IV therapy skills. Oxygen and ventilation administration skills. Bleeding control and shock management skills. Ability to communicate effectively and document information accurately. Ability to move or lift patients and equipment. Demonstrated proficiency in providing critical care, knowledge, and skills. Demonstrated moderate knowledge of Medical Terminology. Demonstrated moderate knowledge of basic computer skills.
