About the Role:
NRL is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of client for a talented Assembly & Test Technician to join their team based in Lisburn, Northern Ireland. Our client is a leader in the energy solutions industry, designing and manufacturing state-of-the-art equipment to support high-power electrical transformers. This equipment is critical for reducing unplanned outages and maintaining reliable power supplies across a global market.
The Opportunity:
The successful candidate will join a dynamic requisition engineering team focused on customer project execution. Working on-site, you’ll play a crucial role in modifying and enhancing our client's advanced monitoring equipment to meet specific customer needs. This role is well-suited for an individual with a strong foundation in electrical or mechanical engineering, excellent attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly & Testing: Assemble and test subassemblies and complete systems, ensuring they meet specified requirements.
- Project Collaboration: Join project calls to discuss progress and clarify project details.
- Process Improvement: Actively look for ways to improve assembly and testing techniques.
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of all project work, ensuring that information is securely filed.
- Quality Control: Report any defects or enhancement suggestions to project engineers.
- Inventory & Workshop Maintenance: Keep the workshop and engineering storage areas in good condition, managing material transactions as needed.
Essential Requirements:
- Technical Training: HND in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent practical experience).
- Industrial Experience: Prior experience with electrical or mechanical assembly and testing, particularly in an industrial setting.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and bills of materials.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
Desirable Skills:
- CAD Skills: Familiarity with CAD software is a plus.
- PC Proficiency: Competency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
