You must be confident in the delivery of midwifery-led care and be able to support less experienced midwives in acquiring these skills.
You will work closely with the Birth Centre manager to ensure delivery of service that is equitable, evidence-based, and consistent with the recommendations of all relevant standard operating procedures and guidelines. You will be required to deputise for the manager in the event of leave or absence.

* Takes part in case reviews, multi-disciplinary learning, and monitors performance and transfer rates through audit, ensuring sound clinical decision making.
* Monitors and continually reviews performance, effectiveness, and user satisfaction.
* Shares learning with other midwifery units, hosts visits from other midwives wishing to develop birth centre services, and arranges placements for student midwives and midwives wishing to develop their skills.
* Participates in research relating to midwifery units and national audit.
