Brief Description
Manage and direct the determination and development of the Building route asset management plans for those assets within a defined geography to meet Route and Regional objectives. Manage the production of specifications and acceptance criteria for Buildings works for all aspects of investment to achieve the required scope and quality in accordance with company asset policies. Provide a comprehensive route based Buildings support service to Maintenance, focused on specified delivery units. Integrate with the Regional Engineering team to develop competence and capability across the engineering discipline.
Your Main Responsibilities will be to:
1. Lead the development of route specific plans, including all maintenance, renewal and investment activity.
2. Maintain records of overall asset condition, key risks, and performance impacts.
3. Monitor route asset management plans to confirm that they are appropriate to deliver required regulatory outputs.
4. Sponsor renewal and incremental enhancement schemes.
5. Work with other members of the asset management teams to review renewal and enhancement proposals.
6. Manage the development of renewal and enhancement schemes.
7. Manage the specification of acceptance criteria for Buildings works.
8. Act as engineering authority for engineering deliverables associated with maintenance, renewal and enhancement activities.
9. Provide professional engineering leadership and manage the provision of a comprehensive Buildings support service.
10. Manage the arrangements for technical briefing of engineers.
11. Review and approve derogations and non-compliances to standards.
12. Collate any issues of regional/national significance.
13. Undertake Level 1 assurance and verification activities on asset maintenance, renewal and enhancement activity.
14. Direct the scheduling of examination, inspection, monitoring and assessment of civils assets.
Essential
Chartered Engineer
Broad and extensive engineering experience, particularly related to renewals and enhancements
A detailed understanding of the maintenance of Buildings assets
A sound knowledge of technical, safety and performance standards relating to Buildings engineering
Proven ability to lead engineering activities in a business environment
An understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques
Experience in the integration of complex engineering systems
Understanding of CDM regulations
Desirable
Relevant management qualification
Expertise in engineering management in a safety critical industry
