You will be part of the Housing and Community services Research and Development Team; the team deliver strategies which set our priorities for the next five years including the district's Housing and Rough Sleeping Strategy and Healthy Housing. We are looking for a highly motivated officer to use research, utilise a variety of data and be able to work in partnership, internally and externally, to monitor the performance of service delivery. The role will collate and manage the submission of data to central government on behalf of the service. Experience: You will have a good understanding or a keen interest and be willing to learn about housing and communities. This role will monitor performance and identify trends and patterns in a range of data including health and wellbeing, communities, economical and housing. The analysis of this information will enable the service to horizon scan and proactively embed an evidence-based decision-making culture. The role involves interpreting and presenting data to a range of audiences. You will prepare high-quality reports, briefing papers, project documentation and monitor regional and national policy developments. We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional and organised person who is a good communicator. You will be organised and be pro-active in your approach, able to manage, balance and meet challenging deadlines in a changing environment. You will have excellent knowledge of Excel and strong IT and mathematical skills. Accountabilities: Service Performance Data and Information Collect, maintain and prepare data to support monitoring of the Housing and Community Business Plan, Healthy Housing Strategy 2023 - 2028 and the Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2024 -2028 and any other strategies as necessary. Maintain and prepare data and reports in formats appropriate for a range of purposes and audiences including: Monthly service and performance reports for Head of Service, Director and Members Reports for stakeholders and partner organisations Data, reports and evidence documents which are published on the website Ensure that the Council is compliant with all regulatory reporting requirements concerning Housing services and that these are reported in an accurate and timely manner in the correct format. Analyse a range of data to inform the development of future services through the identification of current gaps or pressures in housing and community services. Take a lead role in the development, management and reporting from performance management systems. Undertake benchmarking exercises on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis and provide analysis of the data. Develop innovative approaches to displaying and presenting performance information in a way that is easy to interpret by management, operational staff and residents. This includes the use of info-graphics, dashboards and mapping as required. Provide advice and support to the service in regards to trends, patterns and potential risk within any relevant data sets. Devise performance frameworks and analytical insight to track the impact and outcomes of service delivery on residents. Lead on co-ordinating responses to freedom of information requests for the Housing and Community Service. Assist and contribute analysis of relevant data to shape and underpin service reviews and redesigns in order to deliver savings and to improve outcomes for residents. Ensure that the Council's internet and intranet sites reflect accurately and appropriately the work undertaken by the Housing and Community Service and are kept up-to-date. Be responsible for keeping managers, colleagues and Councillors well informed so that work is co-ordinated across the service. Update the Housing 'Stat Nav' as required. General To keep up to date with changes in legislation and developments in practice that could impact on or enhance work within the Housing and Community Services. To ensure compliance with organisation policy and practice whilst providing flexible and innovative advice and development of good practice.
