Get Golfing CIO is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Golf Operations Assistant to join the team at Mill Green Golf Club. As a charity supporting struggling golf facilities in England, we are passionate about preserving and reviving the sport of golf by providing exceptional experiences for our members and visitors. As a Golf Operations Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our golf facility. You will be responsible for various tasks, including checking in golfers, managing tee times, assisting with golf equipment rentals, answering inquiries, and providing excellent customer service to our members and visitors. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while contributing to the success of our golf facility. Multiple roles available Responsibilities Customer Service – Provide a welcoming and professional experience for members and guests, assisting with inquiries and ensuring a high standard of service. Tee Time Management – Manage bookings, check-in players, and coordinate tee times efficiently to ensure smooth course flow. Golf Cart & Equipment – Oversee the upkeep, cleaning, and safe operation of golf carts, rental clubs, and other equipment. Pro Shop Assistance – Support retail operations by assisting customers with purchases, restocking merchandise, and maintaining a tidy shop. Event & Tournament Support – Help organize and run club competitions, corporate days, and tournaments, including scoring and player coordination. Health & Safety Compliance – Ensure all safety protocols are followed, including cart operation rules, course regulations, and emergency procedures. Communication with Grounds Team – Liaise with greenkeepers and course staff to relay course conditions, maintenance schedules, and any player concerns. Membership & Guest Services – Assist with membership sign-ups, renewals, and general inquiries regarding club services and benefits. General Maintenance & Housekeeping – Keep the pro shop, clubhouse areas, and surrounding facilities clean, organized, and well-maintained. Requirements Essential: A passion for golf and a basic knowledge of the sport. Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or a golf-related role. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage with members and guests. Basic computer skills and familiarity with golf management systems. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining excellent service standards. Basic knowledge of golf, including rules, etiquette, and equipment. Ability to handle cash/card transactions and operate a POS system. Willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, weekends, and holidays. A proactive and team-oriented approach with strong problem-solving skills. Desirable: Previous experience in a golf club, pro shop, or golf course operations role. Familiarity with tee time booking systems and golf software. A valid UK driving license (for golf cart/buggy operation).
