Monkton Wood Academy is looking for a Learning Mentor to join their supportive and talented team. We are a diverse multi-academy trust, looking for professional and ambitious people, with a passion for transforming our students' learning.
What We Are Looking For
The Learning Mentor will provide pastoral care and actively engage with the safeguarding team to protect and support our community members. You will work with and support designated students to overcome barriers to learning by identifying specific difficulties and creating solutions. You will promote effective participation, encourage pride in achievement, and raise aspirations to enable students to achieve their full potential. You will deliver measurable impact on student attainment as well as their social and emotional well-being.
The postholder will promote high expectations and high standards for a designated cohort of students. You will monitor and support academic and social development with specific students and work with other members of the pastoral and inclusion teams to support a designated student cohort.

Safeguarding And Pre-employment Checks
The Cabot Learning Federation is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. This role has significant responsibility for ensuring safeguarding practice within the academy. This role involves working with children on a daily basis and is therefore in regulated activity.
The successful applicant will, in accordance with statutory guidance, be subject to a comprehensive pre-employment checking process including references from current and previous employers, health, right to work in the UK, and a child disqualification check. The checks will also include an enhanced DBS check and a further check against the appropriate barred list.
