Our departmental aim is to provide a first class service for patients and staff alike. To support each other and the day to day running of the diagnostic imaging department through being helpful and accommodating towards all.
The successful post holder will be integral in helping us to achieve this aim.
Main duties of the job
We seek an experienced individual who has a proven ability to undertake operational supervision of teams of staff and to demonstrate effective leadership, organisational and communication skills. You will be someone who can effectively switch between tasks, supervise teams across a broad range of diagnostic imaging modalities and have a proactive approach to motivating teams through continuous support, mentoring and training.
You will be skilled in staying calm under pressured circumstances, have a solution focused approach and be an excellent team player who is able to go above and beyond to support staff and patients within our service and in the wider trust.
The role will require working flexibly between the hours of 7.30am to 8pm from Monday to Friday, working occasional weekends and bank holidays and travelling between the trust sites.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities
Duties to include but not be limited to:
* Liaising with clerical officers, appointment clerks, admin supervisors and departmental managers on a daily basis to ensure adequate cover across all appointment and reception areas; including during evenings, weekends and bank holidays.
* Taking responsibility for the daily running of appointment and reception areas, prioritising the workload of self and others and making necessary adjustments to ensure adequate staffing and cover is maintained.
* Providing a key link between the department’s senior management team, ensuring that programmes of work are coordinated effectively and deadlines met.
* Acting as a link between clerical staff and clinical staff to promote a quality service and a proactive outlook within the department.
* Attending regular update meetings with relevant staff to discuss staffing issues, problems, upcoming changes or projects etc.
* Communicating with patients, relatives and other healthcare workers to ensure appropriate dissemination of information.
* Confidently providing information where there may be barriers to understanding.
* Dealing with enquiries from other departments / directorates / Trusts, together with enquiries from GPs, patients and relatives regarding appointments, queries, problems or complaints.
* Acting on own initiative to resolve problems presented by service users, clerical or clinical staff.
Person specification
Qualifications
* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent
* ECDL or equivalent experience
* Efficient in the use of Microsoft Windows applications
Knowledge
* Experience of working in a changing environment
* Experienced in staff management
* Understanding of the patient process from referral to discharge
* Experienced in the use of Quadramed and Clinic templates
* Experienced in the use of eRS
* Understanding of Information Governance, Data Quality and its requirements.
* Previous experience of a busy outpatient appointments environment
* Previous supervisory experience
