Are you a Pharmacy Technician with a passion for education, training and quality ? If the answer is yes - then we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our Pharmacy Team at Dorset Healthcare .
We are looking for a dynamic person to fill the post of Band 6 Senior Pharmacy Technician for Education, Training and Quality. You will be responsible for delivering the education and training for our Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians (PTPTs) and the continual professional development of all Pharmacy Technicians with in our pharmacy services
The successful candidate will hold UK professional registration with the GPhC as a pharmacy technician and have significant, demonstrable, relevant post registration experience. You must have a Level 3 QCF Diploma in Pharmacy Service Skills (NVQ) plus a Level 3 QCF Diploma in Pharmaceutical Sciences (BTEC) or equivalents. You should also have experience of delivering training and education. A full driving licence and own form of transport is also required as you will be expected to travel to a variety of sites across the County, including community pharmacies, primary care networks, community hospitals and patients’ homes.
Employment in this post requires an Enhanced/Standard Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, which the Trust will cover the cost of. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service are able to present a valid DBS certificate instead of requiring a new check.
The Senior Pharmacy Technician – Education, Training and Quality oversees pharmacy technician training requirements for the Pharmacy department as a whole and liaises with Pharmacy Clinical Service Leads .
To manage the provision, co-coordination and delivery of training for Pre-Registration Trainee Pharmacy Technicians’ (PTPTs)pharmacy technicians and support staff, ensuring their training needs are met and that the pharmacy technician workforce is supported with the skills to operate in all sectors (internal and external) for which the Pharmacy Department delivers a service.
To assist the Chief Technician in supporting staff to be aware of current issues in Pharmacy practice and comply with: the Trust’s clinical supervision requirements,.GPhC revalidation requirements
To support the Chief Technician and Pharmacy Clinical Service Leads in order to assist with the delivery of the pharmacy service across all sectors and in identifying and promoting areas for service development.
To assist the Trust Medication Safety Officer (MSO) in ensuring that medication safety is improved, evidenced and supports the achievement of national standards.
To assist the MSO in the implementation of medicines safety training trust-wide and promoting the safe use of medicines.
