Job Title: M&E Building Services Manager Salary: £75,000 - 90,000 (Plus additional company benefits) Location: Cambridge Company Description A UK leading principal contractor at the forefront of construction are actively seeking an M&E Building Services Manager to play a key role in their up-and-coming life sciences, laboratories and commerical projects in Cambridgeshire. Having been known as one of the largest principal contractors globally for many years, my client is currently delivering some of the most cutting-edge major projects in the Cambridgeshire region with project values up to £50 million MEP Having previously delivered one of the largest and most prestigious projects in the region. My client is currently negotiating upcoming projects up to 2030 with the vision of making Cambridge a key area of development for the coming years. This is a great opportunity for a M&E Building Services manager from either a tier one MEP or principal contracting background to join a business that is growing rapidly in the Cambridgeshire region. Responsibilities/ Key Experiences Required Oversee and manage the M&E aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. Ensure that all M&E services are designed, installed, tested, and commissioned according to the project requirements. Collaborate with project teams (architects, engineers, contractors, and clients) to deliver building services solutions on time and within budget. Coordinate with design teams to ensure mechanical and electrical services are properly integrated into the overall building design. Review and approve M&E designs and technical specifications, ensuring they meet the project's operational and safety requirements. Oversee contractors and subcontractors to ensure installations meet project standards and safety regulations. Conduct site inspections to ensure work is progressing as planned and to identify any potential issues early on. Ensure that all mechanical and electrical installations comply with relevant building codes, health and safety regulations, and industry standards. Implement risk management strategies and conduct health and safety audits on M&E systems. Monitor and control project costs related to M&E services, ensuring they stay within budget. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring competitive pricing and high-quality standards. Oversee the procurement of materials, ensuring timely delivery to prevent project delays. Ensure the quality of all mechanical and electrical installations, performing regular audits and inspections. Act as the main point of contact for M&E-related queries from clients, ensuring that their requirements are fully met. Provide regular progress updates and reports on M&E installations to the client and project stakeholders. Ensure the building's M&E services meet environmental performance standards (e.g., BREEAM, LEED). Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues related to M&E services during both the installation phase and the building's operation. Lead and manage M&E teams, ensuring the workforce is skilled, motivated, and meets project deadlines.
