This role is crucial in supporting the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) and offers a rewarding opportunity to make a significant impact in the lives of students requiring tailored educational support. Day-to-day of the role: Assist the SENCO in developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs) for students with special educational needs. Work closely with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure that the specific needs of students are met. Monitor and track the progress of students under the SEN framework and report findings to the SENCO. Assist in the preparation and maintenance of documentation and reports related to SEN students. Support the SENCO in organising and managing resources necessary for the effective teaching of SEN students. Participate in training and development sessions to enhance personal skills and understanding of SEN provisions. Required Skills & Qualifications: Must be a qualified teacher Experience in a support role within an educational setting, preferably within a Pupil Referral Unit or similar environment. Understanding of the needs of students with behavioural, emotional, and social difficulties. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
