Job Description
We are looking for a Finance Controller for a leading aerospace manufacturing company based in Broughton. The business has high turnover and has many stakeholders that rely on timeliness and accurate accounting figures. This role will involve looking after management accounts, requiring strong analytical skills. There will be both recurring and ad-hoc activities, with a drive to make the processes leaner, together with project-based opportunities.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Drive the annual budget and quarterly forecast process across all business units, ensuring robust financial planning and consistency with company financial objectives.
2. Work closely with local business/operational managers to define and propose a list of improvement projects eligible for inclusion in the budget assumption pack for the business units, validating relevant financial information (sizing, business case & ROI) for decision making.
3. Manage the provision of robust and topical financial reporting to local & central operational/controlling teams to ensure visibility of performance versus target and early warning of potential financial risks.
4. Challenge operational performance and support/advice management in achieving their targets by driving improvement measures and mitigation actions on all financial topics.
5. Participate in the assessment of business cases/proposals for operational investments and performance improvement projects, ensuring robust challenge of assumptions and financial evaluations.
6. Conduct financial controlling activities in the categories: Recurring Cost, Inventory, Non-Recurring Cost, and Capex Jigs/Tools (on request).
Experience and Qualifications
1. Qualified Accountant Preferred (CIMA), with a minimum of 2 years PQE in a manufacturing or commercial environment.
2. Knowledge and experience in SAP or equivalent financial reporting tools.
3. Ability to work in a dynamic, enthusiastic team and contribute with a positive, proactive mindset.
4. Strong communication skills with multiple stakeholders at different levels and in different countries.
5. Continuous improvement mindset.
