In the role of Senior Engineer working on Overhead Transmission Line projects, you will be responsible for supervising a team of design engineers specializing in Overhead (OHL) Transmission Lines. This team will be working on a variety of projects encompassing overhead transmission lines ranging from 11kV to 400kV.
You Will Be
* Providing technical evaluations and offering problem-solving solutions to different team members.
* Preparing written proposals outlining everything stakeholders should know about a project, including the timeline, allocating resources, budget, objectives, and goals.
* Offering technical guidance and input throughout the project implementation, statutory planning, and participation in Public Consultation events.
* Responsible for the engineering and design activities of the team related to the overhead line. This includes PLS-CADD modelling, line routing, structure analysis and loading trees, developing design criteria, sag-tension calculations, insulator/conductor blowout, swing angle, damper system recommendations, structure spotting, clearance reports, conductor, and insulator selection.
* Conducting feasibility studies, performing conductor thermal ratings, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
* Undertaking studies to identify a technically preferred solution/layout to take forward to the Client.
* Actively participating in Industry working groups such as CIGRE, IEEE.
If you have experience of the following we'd love to hear from you:
* A bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline, preferably Electrical or Power engineering.
* Experience in overhead line engineering up to 400kV.
* Experience on upgrading work projects such as utilization of High Temperature Low Sag conductors.
* Desirable skills PLS CADD / POLE / TOWER.
* Knowledge of conducting galloping studies, EMF and Field Effects Calculation, Wake effect, AC Interference for Gas pipelines would be advantageous.
* The ability to travel as projects dictate.
