Job Description
Position: Quality, Health, Safety & Environment (QHSE) Engineer
Location: Shropshire based
Working Hours: Monday to Friday (37.5 hours per week) between the core hours of 08:00 and 18:00.

Objective: Responsible for solving day-to-day problems and anticipating health and safety, quality, and environmental hazards. You will support the business in maintaining & improving compliance to the QMS, ensuring products are to the correct standards, function effectively, and meet customer expectations. Additionally, you will oversee Health & Safety processes and measures to minimize workplace incidents and injuries.
Duties:
1. Ensure that supplied parts meet necessary requirements.
2. Provide quality assurance technical expertise to support manufacturing.
3. Review and test sample/first article parts.
4. Inspect parts/materials for defects as appropriate.
5. Lead the resolution of quality-related issues, identifying problems, participating in investigations, then collaborating to design and implement effective solutions.
6. Support the QHSE Manager to maintain occupational health and safety policy and governance arrangements.
7. Support the QHSE Manager to maintain a health and safety management system that reflects legal and good practice standards.
8. Conduct health and safety inspections and audits to monitor performance.
9. Measure and report health and safety performance.
10. Identify hazards and complete risk assessments/incident investigations.
11. Advise on the maintenance and improvement of safe systems of work.
12. Train and educate SNG Group colleagues to enhance the health and safety culture.
Essential Qualifications:
1. Working knowledge of ISO9001 QMS.
2. NEBOSH / IOSH accreditation.
3. Proven ability to make decisions and work independently.
4. Good investigative/problem-solving/detail-oriented skills.
5. Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills.
6. Advanced Microsoft Office ability.
7. Analytical, proactive problem solver.
