We have an exciting opportunity for a Lead Product Engineer (Electronics) to join our engineering team at our Great Yarmouth facility working on challenging and innovative projects that are important drivers for our continued growth.
In this important role, you will be responsible for the provision of high reliability microelectronics product and circuit design and documentation in support of new product introductions as well as supporting and updating for existing products.
Main Responsibilities:
* Take engineering ownership of projects and products. Engage with internal and external customers throughout the product and process life cycle.
* Be the Engineering Lead for specific products and projects.
* Ensure robust root cause analysis is conducted for all failures with corrective action plans.
* Participate in Design FMEA.
* Deal with design changes/obsolescence issues.
* Review stage gates on repeat orders - check for historic issues and capability changes.
* Review configuration to ensure documentation is in line with customer specifications.
* Review requirements for both design and testing of products.
* Be a delegated authority to the Engineering Manager as required and assist in the management of activities related to engineering.
* Assist Engineering Management with ongoing development and strengthening of procedures and related documentation in accordance with AS9100.
* Assist in guidance of development towards DFM, MIL-PRF-38534 and relevant associated standards in support of new products and processes.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor or Masters Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience.
Knowledge and Experience:
* Electronics engineering background.
* Practical understanding of microelectronics assembly.
* High reliability microelectronics design and development experience.
* Experience in aerospace or industries with similar requirements.
* Working knowledge of any of the following Cadence / Pantheon / Eagle / AutoCad / Solidworks / Cam350 / GC Powerplace (desirable).
* Familiarity with PCBA techniques, thick film hybrid technologies and electronic test methodologies (desirable).

Other requirements:
* SC cleared or ability to obtain.
* Role is office based with limited and occasional home working.
* Occasional travel to other Spectrum Control sites and customers as required.
