Transport Team Manager:
Schedule: Mon-Fri, Rotating shifts (06:00 - 14:00, mid shift, 14:00 - 22:00)
Salary: £32,000 per year
Type: Temp to perm

How will you contribute?
1. Support the management of a team of drivers, vehicles, and administration staff to deliver timely dispatch of deliveries to our customers' stores and provide a first-class service.
2. Ensure all work activities are carried out in accordance with legal requirements and company guidelines.
3. Operate various transport software to manage and record vehicle activities in accordance with plans and customer requirements.
4. Work collaboratively with the Warehouse Team and Vehicle Maintenance Unit in orchestrating the movement of loads and availability of vehicles and trailers.
5. Provide reports to Shift Managers.
6. Deliver service in accordance with plans and targets set.
7. Report and manage vehicle defects.
8. Communicate with customers regarding any site issues that may impact service levels.
9. Deal with internal and external customer and employee concerns and enquiries.
10. Interrogate plans to ensure all work is allocated to appropriate vehicles.
11. Manage driver resources when business requires.
12. Carry out driver pre-and de-briefs.
13. Carry out training and communicate planned requirements to drivers and administrators, providing information on performance, company news, and procedures.
14. Proactively motivate and guide all direct reports and manage performance when required.
Reports to: Transport Shift Manager
What will you bring?
1. Experience in a Transport Management role.
2. Knowledge of computerized scheduling and driver management packages would be an advantage.
3. Commercial awareness and understanding of the contractual operating environment.
4. Adept at prioritizing and organizing workload, managing multiple and changing priorities concurrently.
5. Ability to assimilate and process complex data and plans.
6. Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
7. Excellent relationship-building and communication skills.
8. High standard of administration and computer skills including Word, Excel, MS Outlook, PowerPoint.
9. Team player.
10. High level of discretion and judgment.
11. Experience of supervising and managing a team.
