Clinical Psychologist Emergency Department - permanent position, B8B 0.85wte.
This post will mainly be based within the Emergency Department to provide both patient & staff support. The post will involve supporting the development of a patient model within the Emergency Department. Staff support will comprise of psychological signposting guidance & general psychological support to staff, when required.
This is a new post within a newly developing specialist service and in addition to a clinical caseload, the post-holder will be involved in helping to develop the service further, in collaboration with the existing Consultant Clinical Psychologist post-holder, the wider service & the management team.
The post requires a regular physical presence in the Emergency Department & also availability to support staff either in person in the Department, via telephone call, video call or email.
The post holder will be accountable for their own professional actions as a Highly Specialist Psychologist. They will work autonomously within professional, Trust and team guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the Emergency Department.
As required, to provide training, teaching and supervision to psychologists and non-psychologists within NUH.
In collaboration with the Head of Specialism and Director of Psychology to carry out and contribute to audit, policy and service development, and research activities and/or programmes as required. To ensure department-wide Clinical Governance compliance as agreed with Head of Service.
To participate in clinical governance for the Clinical Psychology and Neuropsychology department and to ensure department-wide Clinical Governance compliance as agreed with Head of Service.
To assist as appropriate in the event of a Major Incident.
