Job Description:
As the Engineering Manager, you will be resposible for all machine and building services maintenance and to ensure that all equipment and services are maintained in accordance with manufacturers and company requirements. Supervises and co-ordinates the activities of engineering team in setting up, installing, repairing, and maintaining machinery and equipment. To undertake risk assessments on departmental activities to confirm overall company and personal risk. Including assessing sub-contractors’ method statements and risk assessments for sub-contracted works.
This role reports into the Group Engineering Manager – Europe.
Main Duties & Tasks:
To direct engineering staff in electrical, electronic, mechanical maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment.
To liaise with departmental Team Leaders on the maintenance schedules for all machinery and equipment ensuring that all required records are fully up to date.
To issue and control maintenance schedules for main services, i.e., machinery ancillary equipment, water, air conditioning, ventilation, abatement system etc., ensuring that all required records are fully up to date.
To maintain production equipment and services within the building to achieve maximum production efficiency.
To ensure that all maintenance practices are undertaken in a safe manner as to ensure complete safety of all personnel.
To ensure that all required maintenance is undertaken to time scale in accordance with production departmental Risk Assessment Recommendations.
To undertake and supervise all machinery cleaning to the agreed cleaning schedules.To assist the H & S Officer in factory high level cleaning as scheduled at annual shutdown period.
Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, power efficiencies & quality of product.
Ensure engineering cover is available for all shifts covering 24-hour period 7 days per week. (Call out system to supplement on-site engineers at all times)
Ensuring all factory site equipment is maintained, including Extractors, Air Cond. equipment, Heaters etc.
Organise and monitor the daily workflow of the engineering staff.
Identify and report on any areas of non-conformance and agree corrective action.
Assist engineering team in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
Direct all staff (Internal & External) engaged in the dismantling, assembling, and installing of industrial machinery.
Ensuring spares are kept as required to minimise down time. To ensure all engineering staff follow the company purchase order system. Record monthly stock on all engineering spares in accordance with month end requirements.
To undertake special projects as required by the directors.
To train, motivate and develop engineering staff as a successful team.
To review and evaluate personnel performance in terms of quality, quantity, housekeeping, hygiene, attitude, behaviour, and flexibility. To correct deficiencies through training, motivation and if necessary disciplinary procedures in a fair and consistent manner.
To undertake all Hygiene and Quality responsibilities to ensure that company standards are met and surpassed.
To introduce and maintain safe working systems to ensure personnel are kept free from injury and operations are safe and efficient.
Work in accordance with all company environmental management requirements, taking reasonable care for the protection of the environment through your own acts/omissions and report any opportunities for improving environmental targets.
Work as part of a team, supporting colleagues and sharing information.
To manage and support the Engineering teams over multiple sites.

Requirements:
* Engineering experience.
* Supervisory skills and experience.
* Maintains strict confidentiality and protects privacy of confidential/sensitive information.
* Exceptional time management and organization skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously establishing priorities to meet deadlines.
* Ability to communicate effectively (verbal, written, and presentations) with executive leadership, staff, and internal and external clients.
* Proactive; exercises sound judgment and decision making; able to identify problems and needs and develop solutions and/or options.
