We are actively looking to engage a customs compliance professional with a passion for shipping and European / RoW freight forwarding for a new role as a Customs Compliance Supervisor in Lichfield, West Midlands. The role will be in Lichfield on a hybrid basis of 3 days per week.

My client focuses on providing customs clearance for air freight, sea freight & road freight solutions, which are both cost effective & time sensitive.
Job Description
As a Customs Compliance Supervisor, you will report to the Customs & Compliance Director on a daily basis. You will be responsible for the following areas across the Lichfield, West Midlands office:
1. Managing a team of 10-12 customs brokerage agents.
2. Conducting training, development, and HR management of the team including RTW's, 1-2-1's, annual appraisals, and monthly training and development sessions.
3. Managing the team and assisting with inputting of road, air, and sea freight clearances into CDS / CHIEF using a variety of software such as Destin8.
4. Preparing road, air, and sea freight documentation for customs entries - such as export packing lists, certificates of origin, EUR1s, ATR1s, dual-use licensing, port charges, and costs of special documents.
5. Handling customs entries (EUR1's / ATR1's) and arranging billings for VAT/Duties.
6. Ensuring, booking, and conducting full end-to-end customs clearance.
The Ideal Candidate
The successful candidate will have an expansive background in customs compliance within the freight forwarding industry. The ideal Customs Compliance Supervisor will have the following skills and experience:
1. 3+ years of experience in customs and/or customs compliance.
2. Proven managerial experience within a customs/compliance environment in team leadership of ideally 5+ individuals.
3. Experience of using CDS or CHIEF software for customs entries.
4. Desirable experience of compliance such as AEO, Letter of Credit Documentation, IPR, and/or OPR.
5. Knowledge of INCOTerms & Export Licensing is advantageous.
6. Commutable to Lichfield on a hybrid basis.
