In this Civil Engineering role, you’ll provide technical guidance and solutions on a range of potable water infrastructure capital projects, from early conception of the scheme to final completion.
Reporting to the Senior Civil Engineer, you will be given technical deliverables that will contribute to the wider engineering delivery programme.
A strong understanding of industry standards, CDM2015 and NEC contracts is vital, as you will be ensuring quality and compliance of CDM2015 throughout projects. You will also work with the Senior Civil Engineer on intermediate capital projects, including the production of scope documents, design drawings, and CDM documents to agreed deadlines.
A strong background in the industrial sector or water distribution will allow you to review and implement appropriate engineering policies and procedures, ensuring compliance at every step. Over 5 years’ experience installing clean water pipe systems is also crucial, with additional dirty water installation being desirable. The ability to mentor apprentice and graduate civil engineers will be key to the success of the team.
You will be confident liaising with internal and external stakeholders to provide technical advice and seek approval for projects. Using your knowledge and experience within Civil Engineering, you will also mentor the Graduate Civil Engineer on project work.
What will you be accountable for?
* Providing technical solutions and support on intermediate capital projects with the support of a senior engineer, including the production of Scope Documents, Design Drawings, CDM Documents and compilation of job packs to required deadlines.
* Mentoring Graduate Civil Engineer at project level.
* Liaising with internal and external 3rd parties to seek approvals to facilitate projects.
* Conducting site visits to undertake audits and provide guidance to contractors.
* Reporting to the Senior Engineer/Project Manager with constraints that could impact cost and programme on projects.
What do you bring to the role?
* A degree / HND in Civil Engineering and be working towards Chartership.
* Experience in a water distribution environment or similar industrial background.
* More than 5 years’ experience installing clean water pipe systems.
* Understanding of NEC contracts and CDM 2015, including how they are applied to projects.
* A strong awareness and understanding of industry standards and specifications.
* Keen, committed and self-motivated.
* Ability to mentor Apprentice and Graduate Civil Engineer.
