Waking Night Support Worker Annual Salary: £27,000 Location: DN1, Doncaster Council Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Doncaster Council is seeking a dedicated Waking Night Support Worker to join our team at Wharf House. This role is crucial in enhancing the opportunities and improving the well-being of individuals facing multiple and complex challenges, including substance misuse, homelessness, mental health issues, offending behaviour, and domestic or sexual violence. Day-to-day of the role: Assist individuals in a hostel setting to actively engage with relevant services that address their specific needs. Record and update detailed support plans that reflect progress, activity, and outcomes. Coordinate one-on-one sessions with clients tailored to their needs, focusing on responsibility, reflection, and addressing crisis or trigger points that could lead to disengagement. Develop effective working relationships with key voluntary and statutory services. Consistently review and address obstacles to progress in collaboration with partners and individual contacts. Demonstrate responsibility, resilience, and assertiveness when managing challenging behaviour or individuals in crisis; address and communicate risks appropriately. Develop an exit strategy for each individual based on their progress and future needs. Identify triggers and warning signs and use this insight to collaboratively plan with individuals experiencing homelessness. Required Skills & Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant field. Valid Enhanced DBS on the update service. All online training must be valid and completed in the last 6 months. Experience in working with individuals facing complex challenges. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Resilience and assertiveness in managing challenging situations.
