An exciting opportunity has presented for a full-time self-motivated and committed individual to develop their leadership skills in this management role.
We are looking for an astute and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team and to team lead medicines management dispensary services based at Hollins Park Hospital Warrington.
To help us achieve this, you must be able to demonstrate core leadership and organisational skills as well as extensive knowledge of dispensary services.
Main duties of the job
As part of this role, you will support the Pharmacy Technician Team Manager for Dispensaries to ensure that both dispensaries meet quality and activity targets. You will manage the workload of the dispensary and supervise staff on a day-to-day basis, organising rotas and cover for any unexpected staff absences to ensure a safe, effective, and timely service.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
The post holder will participate in the medicines management seven-day supply service. The trust will deliver a high-quality medicines optimisation and pharmaceutical care service to all service users, carers, and healthcare professionals.
The post holder will ensure users receive their medicines accurately and safely, in a timely manner. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly in line with the hours of operation.
Person specification
Qualifications
* BTEC level 3 in pharmaceutical science, or Level 3 NVQ in pharmacy service skills, or equivalent qualification
* Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council
* BTEC Level 4 in dispensing accuracy checking, or equivalent qualification (or willingness to work towards)
* NVQ A1 workplace assessor (or willingness to work towards)
Knowledge/Experience
* Management experience within pharmaceutical services
* Experience or knowledge of medicines management services within an NHS context
* Experience of dispensing & accuracy checking medication
* Understanding of the working of organisations
* Clear understanding of all relevant legislation and guidance relating to dispensary services
* Experience of multi-disciplinary working
