Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our innovative, dynamic and forward-thinking Perinatal Mental Health Service based in Leeds. The Perinatal Mental Health Service provides the Leeds Community Perinatal Mental Health Team, a Regional Referral Management Service, and a Regional Mother and Baby Unit.
We are now looking for a dynamic, innovative & passionate Clinical Team Manager to work within the Leeds Community Perinatal Mental Health Team.
The Leeds Community Perinatal Mental Health Team provides community support across the whole of Leeds for mothers suffering from moderate to severe mental illness in the perinatal period, to prevent further deterioration and admission to hospital. The service provides a range of care packages for women experiencing a mental illness in pregnancy and up to 2 years postnatally. This includes, though is not limited to, a specialist holistic assessment of need for mother and infant, group work, tailored 1:1 therapies, and advice to a range of professionals on the care and management of women suffering from a significant mental illness or at risk of developing a significant mental illness in the perinatal period. We often work very intensively with mothers at a time when their need is very acute. Some of our families have very complex social circumstances, and this needs sensitive handling alongside the management of the mental illness and the ongoing safeguarding of mother and infant.
Main duties of the job
The post holder requires skills in providing good quality clinical, management, and caseload supervision. You will need to support staff with their day-to-day work, supporting their development, clinical practice, and performance. You will need to manage the team using human resources procedures, service operating procedures, and governance structures. You will need highly developed interpersonal, engagement, and problem-solving skills.
You will need to work flexibly and continuously network and engage with community clinical services and partner organisations; with the overall aim of improving service user experience and outcomes. Applicants will need to demonstrate sound values, including compassion around meeting the needs of service-users and their carers, recognising the importance of co-production and choice in the planning and delivery of care. You will promote social inclusion, community access, and participation through ensuring quality around care provision.
We recruit people based on their values and qualifications (where required) and believe that their lived experience is an advantage. This means that together we are as diverse as the communities we care for. Simply put, when we employ caring people who act with integrity and have the right skills, we can give those with mental health challenges, learning disabilities, and neurodiversity high-quality care and support to live fulfilling lives, and make our staff feel purposeful, happy, and valued.
