Job Overview
The Directorate of Pathology provides a clinically led and comprehensive pathology service to hospital clinicians and primary care throughout Gwent and South Powys serving a catchment population of approximately 600,000. The service supports the diagnosis, prognosis, and monitoring of disease and the efficacy of treatment via the provision of analytical tests of a high scientific quality with a timely turnaround time. In the Biochemistry department, we process over 5000 samples a day and have a large team of over 60 staff.
We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic Business Support Officer to join our progressive and dynamic Biochemistry team. The post holder will provide a confidential, comprehensive, and efficient administrative service to the Biochemistry senior management team within ABUHB.
Main duties of the job
The Successful Applicants’ Duties Will Include:
* Maintaining personnel records, PADR recording, staff absences, and staff recruitment.
* Administration support for the management of invoices, ensuring invoices are processed and completed to comply with financial requirements.
* Maintaining and creating call-off orders.
* Organising meetings, keeping accurate records and distribution of minutes.
* Supporting the management of laboratory assets.
Experience using NHS applications such as Oracle, Q-pulse, ESR, and Healthroster will be advantageous.
The post will be based at the Grange University Hospital, but you may be required to work on other HB sites. Excellent communication, organisational, and IT skills are essential.
Candidates must be educated to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent, as will an enthusiastic approach and relevant experience.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Hours: 18.75 hours per week Wednesday - Friday.
